About the Role
In this pivotal role at PentaBind's aptamer design services subsidiary, the Business Development Specialist will spearhead sales growth and forge commercial partnerships, distinct from our parent company's therapeutic drug focus. Your primary task is to identify potential clients, converting leads into long-term customers through direct sales efforts and adept contract negotiations for aptamer design services.
You'll also play a crucial role in shaping PentaBind's sales strategy, driving the adoption of innovative aptamers in the advanced biotech arena. Identify and engage with potential clients to expand the customer base for aptamer design services.
Develop and execute direct sales strategies to convert leads into long-term customers.
Negotiate and close contracts for aptamer design services, ensuring alignment with client needs and company objectives.
Analyse market trends and customer feedback to inform and improve sales approaches.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted sales campaigns and materials.
Attend industry conferences and events to network and promote PentaBind's services.
Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the latest developments in synthetic biology and biotechnology.
Foster strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
Collaborate with the R&D team to understand and effectively communicate the technical aspects of aptamer services.
Minimum of five years of post-university experience in business development, preferably in biotechnology or a related field.
Proven track record of successful sales, client acquisition, and contract negotiation.
Strong understanding of synthetic biology, biotechnology, or a closely related scientific domain.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering lasting client relationships.
Proficiency in managing Customer Resource Management software tools and creating sales materials in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Results-driven with a strategic mindset, adept at identifying and capitalising on market opportunities.
Experience in sales or business development specifically within the aptamer or therapeutic drug sector.
Advanced degree in a relevant scientific field, such as biotechnology or molecular biology.
Proficiency in additional languages, facilitating international business development.
Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced and evolving startup environments.
Established network within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
